All of my life I had had spaces between my teeth and had difficulty pronouncing some words. My teeth had worn down quite a bit because I am in my early sixties. He said the muscles that support my lower jaw have a comfortable preferable position that could be found and then the teeth could be lengthened and contoured to support my jaw in that position. We found that my comfortable muscle position allowed my worn down teeth to be lengthened a total of 9 millimeters. Dr. Hemingway made a computer simulation of me with a new smile and made a wax mock-up of my teeth on models to show me how handsome my teeth could be in the new position. I was excited about the changes. I had the total treatment completed: all 32 of my teeth were fixed to the new jaw position. From my before and after pictures you can see a major difference in my smile: the gaps are closed, my teeth are longer, lighter and younger looking. My smile is relaxed and comfortable.
