Drs. Hemingway & Reber are the first comprehensive dentists in Monterey County to offer Cone Beam Computerized Tomography, commonly referred to as i-CAT. This technology allows them to take one scan of the head and neck which is computer enhanced, similar to a CAT scan, to see all the structures of the head and neck in three dimensional minute detail.
How does this benefit you? This technology allows the doctors to view all aspects of your Temporal mandibular joint if you have TMD problems. Because they can readily see the problem in exquisite detail they can diagnose more accurately and treat more accurately. Computerized Tomography allows accurate visualization of the jaws for placement of implants in the best bone with the least trauma. It provides accurate orthodontic diagnosis to level the smile and to align the jaws for a healthy natural airway. Because the airway is clearly visible the i-CAT is also used in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea.
